Our air filter uses a two-layer synthetic depth-loading medium in place of the single surface-loading paper pleat that ships from the factory. Depth loading captures particles all the way through the pleat instead of just on the upstream face. It holds more dust before the pressure drop climbs out of spec, which buys a longer service interval at the same engine vacuum. Frame and gasket dimensions match the original airbox so the seal at the lid lands the same way it always did.
